thesibylqueen @ 01:54 pm: Moonwise thoughts?
Have folks finished Moonwise? Do we want to try a discussion? I'll be honest, I have not started July's book; if others haven't, I suggest we move onto Yume... instead. Which I'm DYING to discuss--I own a blue edition and I *really* want to know what's different in a red edition!!!

We can discuss--what issues do you want to talk about?

If we skip to Yume, which I have no problem with of course, we ought to come back to the Chess Garden, because it is awesome.

Moonwise has been the only book so far that I haven't been able to get hold of, mostly because I can't find it locally and when I buy second hand copies on Amazon I end up paying more for postage than the price of a new book.

Maybe we should postpone it then until September or October? A new edition is coming out from Prime so you should be able to get it then. I know there's at least one other Aussie in the group, so maybe that's something to consider.

I would like that. I had to speed read the last half of my copy because I couldn't renew it again. I'd like the chance to read it again more thorougly...

Then I guess we have to put it up to the group whether to do Chess Garden or skip to Yume.

Guys?

I'm happy to do either.

And I just realized I've access to one of the best SF collections south of the equator, so I'll check to see if they have Moonwise.

I don't mind shifting the schedule to do both books, but I'll need a week or so to aquire and read Chess Garden. So, my vote is to do both, starting with Chess Garden, and slide Yume and Moonwise into the fall...

Yes. I'm pretty broke, so cannot afford new books, and can't afford 2nd hand sellers via amazon because the postage (USD$9+) costs about as much as buying a new paperback in a shop here.

I did get Chess Garden second hand yesterday, so I'll read that. And I'll see if the uni library have Moonwise

Doesn't look like Moonwise is in the catelog. I think it's great that it has been reissued, but I just can't justify the expense right now.
